Over 60,000 people have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wayne County. Tuesday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services show 60,558 people have received at least one vaccine dose, representing 49% of the county’s population. 52,219 people have been fully vaccinated, which is just 42% of Wayne County’s population.
Hundreds of new COVID-19 cases are being confirmed in Wayne County each week, with 771 new cases reported in the last 14 days. Wayne County has now recorded 286 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began (four more since this time last week).
