WCC Winter Fine Arts Festival This Week

Wayne Community College invites the public to enjoy an evening of art and music during its Winter Fine Arts Festival on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 2.

“This evening is meant to be a night of joy and celebration, honoring the amazing talents of our college family,” WCC Music Instructor Randi Chalfant said.

This year’s event will feature drawings, paintings and designs created by students during the Fall 2021 semester. The show opens at 6 p.m. and will include performances by student musicians during the gallery viewing. The display will be set up in the Atrium of the Wayne Learning Center on the college’s campus in Goldsboro.

“After a long and challenging few years, it is good to see the new season and all the colors of art in the Atrium,” said Art Instructor Angie Waller.

“Our fine art students have worked so hard to give you a wonderful example of the talent that we are so fortunate to have on this campus. I cannot tell you how proud I am of my students’ amazing skills. The imagination, execution and creative powers are to be celebrated,” Waller said.

Music students, along with dancers and special guests, will present a concert of music and skits beginning at 7 pm in Moffatt Auditorium in the Wayne Learning Center.

“This is our first in-person performance since Covid began,” said Chalfant. “We are excited to share the wonderful gifts and talents of the students at Wayne Community College.”

The event is free and open to the public.

All visitors to the WCC campus must wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
