Jamiya Bass scored a game-high 16 points and Southern Wayne defeated rival Eastern Wayne 40-30 on Friday evening. With the win, the Saints improve to 5-0 overall.
Southern Wayne has now won five games in a row for the first time since 2018, while the Warriors drop to 4-3.
Nevaeh Hines-Bass added 11 and 7 rebounds, and Ta’Niyah Glaspie grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Saints will look to win six games in a row when they travel to East Wake on Thursday for their Quad County 3A Conference opener.
Eastern Wayne next faces off against Rosewood on Jan. 4.
