City council members approved a proclamation designating April as Reentry Month in Goldsboro at it’s meeting on April 4, 2022.

Also known as Second Chance Month, officials say it’s a time to focus on the challenges facing the more than 20,000 people returning to their communities each year after completing a prison sentence.

Removing barriers to housing and employment, and providing necessary support helps increase the likelihood of a successful return to the community. Governor Roy Cooper also proclaimed April as Second Chance Month in North Carolina.
