On April 7, 2022, a 22-year-old female victim filed a report with the Goldsboro Police Department in reference to being sexually assaulted by a known assailant.

The suspect was identified as Andrew Robert Peaks. The investigation progressed, and probable cause was developed.

On Aug. 3, 2022, a warrant was secured against Mr. Peaks for one count of Second Degree Forcible Sex Offense. Mr. Peaks already had pending misdemeanor warrants regarding the same victim for Assault on a Female and Indecent Exposure, which the victim secured prior to this report on a separate incident.

Mr. Peaks was brought to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office by NCDPS after authorities located him in New Jersey and waived extradition to return to N.C. The Goldsboro Police Department Warrant Division assisted in serving Mr. Peaks with all his warrants. He was given a $150,000 secured bond and placed in the Wayne County Jail.
