The Wayne County Board of Education held its regularly scheduled monthly meeting Monday. Prior to the meeting, a special ceremony was held to swear in newly elected Board Members.

Each December, the Board reorganizes by selecting a new Chair and Vice-Chair. Attorney Schwartz asked for nominations for Board Chair.

Board Member Sanders nominated Wade Leatham as Chair. Board Member Burden nominated Len Henderson. After no further nominations, Attorney Schwartz closed the nominations.

Mr. Leatham was named Board Chair after receiving five votes [Voting in Favor: Foucht, Joyner, Leatham, Sanders, & West]. Mr. Henderson received two votes [Voting in Favor: Burden & Henderson]

Chair Leatham then asked for Attorney Schwartz to collect nominations for Vice-Chair. Board Member Burden nominated Len Henderson. Board Member West nominated Craig Foucht. After no further nominations, Attorney Schwartz closed the nominations.

Mr. Foucht was named Board Vice-Chair after receiving five votes [Voting in Favor: Foucht, Joyner, Sanders, West, & Chair Leatham]. Mr. Henderson received two votes [Voting in Favor: Burden & Henderson]
