David Allen Evans, 72, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at his home.

David was born in Wayne County to the late Allen Jethro Evans and Alice Malpass Evans on August 28, 1950. For many years he owned and operated Evans Roofing Company. David was a simple man that always enjoyed spending time with his special companion and friend, Louise Holland. Louise passed away on December 11, 2022.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 30, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate David’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in the Calypso Cemetery.

David is survived by his brother, Ray Allen Evans, and wife, Gloria of Goldsboro; sisters, Faye Merlin, and husband, Al of Dudley and Ann Pospichet of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much. He is also survived by Louise’s family: son, Robert Kirk Holland (April) of Goldsboro, a daughter, Linda Holland Whitmore (Kenny) of Otis Orchards, WA; grandchildren, Robert Jordan Holland (Hannah), Timothy Jared Holland and Kenny Whitmore, Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Sierra Whitmore.

In addition to Louise and his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil Evans and Ricky Evans; and sister, Linda Robinson.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in David’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
