Police: Man Threatened Walmart Shoppers

A man was arrested after threatening Walmart shoppers with a gun. Saturday at approximately 3:25 p.m. Goldsboro Police Department received a call in reference to an armed suspect inside Walmart, 1002 N. Spence Ave. Several witnesses began calling advising responding officers of a suspect brandishing a firearm, and threatening citizens.

As responding officers arrived on the scene, witnesses directed the officers to the suspect’s vehicle as the suspect was attempting to leave the scene.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and a firearm was recovered and seized. The suspect was identified as Keyantae Lavon Toomer. Toomer was transported to the Magistrate’s Office where he was charged with Going Armed to the Terror of the Public, Assault by Pointing a Gun (2 counts), Child Abuse (2 counts), Carrying Concealed Weapon, and placed under a $15,000 secured bond pending his court date.
