On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at approximately 3:18 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of S. Best St. The resident reported that an unknown person forced entry to the home while the resident was asleep and began removing items. An acquaintance of the resident, who was also sleeping in the home, woke up and confronted the intruder. The intruder then fled the home in the resident’s vehicle. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene. This investigation is still developing.
