Sandra Marie Pittman Lee, 74, passed away at Wayne UNC Health Care on Thursday, May 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 16, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Millard Walker and Josephine Andreska. 

When she was able, Sandy loved being by the water with a rod and reel in hand, waiting for the fish to bite. Being known for having a green thumb, she loved being in the yard working in her garden. Her favorite flower was pink roses, and she enjoyed the beautiful blooms that would come to each springtime. While outside with her flowers, Sandy often times had hummingbirds pay her a visit. When she was not outside, Sandy could be found inside sewing. Having worked many years as a seamstress, there was no project too big that Sandy could complete.

Family was Sandy’s top priority in her life. She loved the title Momma and Grandma, but her favorite title she had was Gigi. She was the best grandma to her grandchildren and GiGi to her great-grandchildren, spoiling them any chance she got. Sandy, along with her husband, George “Bill” Lee, raised four daughters that they are so proud of. Many times, she could be found on the farm helping Bill in all sorts of ways. She will be missed on Saturdays at La Paz, where she, Bill, Jane, and Bett would always have lunch. Sandy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma,  and most of all, Gigi.

A service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home with Jeff Daw presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband, George “Bill” Lee; daughters, Cindy Pipkin and husband Cecil, Michelle Lancaster, Lori Smith, Billie Jo Lee and wife, Amy; grandchildren Joshua Pipkin and fiancée, Danielle Curran, Samantha Baker and husband, Greg, Kaitlyn Foss and husband, Cameron, Taylor Smith and fiancé, Nicholas Thompson; great-grandchildren, Ansley Pipkin, Owen Baker, Waylon Pipkin, Carlee Lynn Baker, Elias Foss, as well as 2 more great-grandchildren on the way; siblings, Richard Pittman (Joyce), Linda Graham (Ray), and Carla Thomas; and granddog, Mollee.
