Jackson McKenzie Woodcock

Jackson McKenzie Woodcock, age 18, passed away on Wednesday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh as a result of a motorcycle accident of no fault of his own. Born in Wayne County, Jackson was the son of Jamie and Cynthia Woodcock. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Patricia and Hugh Brick, and his maternal grandfather, Frank Jackson.  

Jackson was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and loved to duck hunt. He was a member of Brownings Methodist Church and was a Boy Scout with Troop 10. Jackson worked two jobs, the Food Lion in Newton Grove and auto body repairs with Body Tech, while also attending Hobbton High School where he was finishing his junior year.

Jackson was always laughing, smiling, and making others laugh with his jokes. He was a loving and kind person who was always thinking of others. At the age of 16, Jackson made the decision to be an organ donor and through his decision, many lives have been physically healed. Jackson now lives on through those that received his gifts.

A graveside service to celebrate Jackson’s life will be held on Friday, June 9 at 11:00 am at the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. David Helbig officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Brownings Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Jamie and Cynthia, Jackson is survived by his brothers, Zachry Woodcock and his wife, Jordan, and Maison Woodcock; his paternal grandparents, James and Sue Woodcock, and his maternal grandmother, Judy Jackson; he is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins along with his special friends, Josh and Haley Villnave and his beloved dog, “Cash”.
