Two Local High School Students Receives Kappa Scholarships

Graduating Seniors Kelvin Tannis, Southern Wayne and Omarion Hunter, Eastern Wayne have been proudly selected as recipients of the prestigious Goldsboro Alumni Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. 2023 Scholarships. Awarded $500 each, these exceptional young scholars now embark on their journey to a four-year college or university of their choosing this fall.

Destined for greatness, both Mr. Tannis and Mr. Hunter have impressive futures awaiting them. Hailing from an immigrant family, Tannis marks the second of four siblings to successfully complete high school and the first to pursue higher education. Hunter, known for his innate problem-solving skills, aspires to master electrical engineering in his upcoming studies.

As a historically African American Greek-letter social fraternity built upon a fundamental principle of ACHIEVEMENT, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.’s Goldsboro (NC) Alumni chapter takes immense pride in actively supporting and serving its community. This unwavering commitment is exemplified through their provision of mentorship and scholarships to outstanding young men like Tannis and Hunter within Goldsboro.
