Sarah Kathryn “Kathy” York Fischel, age 66, passed away on Friday at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Seville, Spain, she was preceded in death by her parents, James Ervin York and Joan Gilliam York, and an infant brother and infant sister. Kathy was a caregiver who gave her love and care to many in her community in their homes. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. Kathy’s passion was Animal Rescue. This passion led to her many tireless volunteer hours spent with the Maggie Society and Diamonds In The Ruff. Much of her time was spent transporting animals for rescue. Kathy also loved to fish and travel to the mountains. 

A service to celebrate her life will be held by the graveside on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Emmaus Baptist Church. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.

Kathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Brian “Spanky” Fischel; two daughters, Sarah Fischel and Melissa Robinson; five sisters, Sylvia Fennell, Wanda Best, Jerri Whitley, Cristal Marriner, and Amy York; four grandchildren, Rami, Micah, Abby, and Trent; her fur babies, Rex and Heidi; along with her granddogs, Bonnie and Katie.
