Geneva “Genny” Potter Crumpler, 87, was delivered of the care of this life on Monday, June 19, 2023. She was born in Wayne County to the late Lannie H. and Minnie Adams Potter on January 7, 1936. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Crumpler; daughter, Pamela Jo Adams; grandson, Joshuriah Adams; and sister, Hazel Shivar.

For many years, Genny worked as a nurse in Goldsboro and also assisted her husband on the farm. Her desire to be a nurse was something that set in early and she pursued that dream while working in the health care field.

Genny was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Stoney Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church. There, she joined in worship with her church family and in study as a member of the Ambassador Sunday School Class.

Genny was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder’s Association and had served as a board member of the Wayne County ASCS.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Crumpler Family Cemetery, 707 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro with Rev. Scott Sauls officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Genny is survived by her daughter, Jodi Crumpler (Bryan Taylor); grandson, Stanton Head; special nephew, Vernon Shivar and wife, Sheila; and her nephew, Glenn Shivar, and wife, Rena. She is also survived by Bryan’s daughter, Aaron Taylor, and her son, Weston.
