Born in Somerset, Ky to William Serber and Della Okle (Scales) Wilson.

She is survived by four children: daughter Carol (Fred) Kamosa of Albertson, son Glenn Flora of Kentucky (Brenda Flora of Florida), daughter Bonnie Flora (friend Willie “Bud” Johnson) of Mount Olive, son Kevin(Damika) Flora of Goldsboro.

Virginia is also survived by siblings Ronald (Carol) Wilson, Alma Gentry ( Tim Chubb), Randy Wilson, Janet Wilson of Ky, and Darrell (Rae) Wilson of In.

Grandchildren: Michelle (Ricardo) Espinosa of Mt Olive, Crystal (Guillermo) Balleza of Mt Olive, Josh (Logan) Flora of Florida, Jennie (Francis) Brennan of Kentucky, Andrew and Jordan Flora of Dudley. Cody (Maria) Strickland of Fayetteville, Kevin (Ruby) Strickland of Goldsboro, Brandon Strickland of Goldsboro, and Amya (Jose)Moreno of Four Oaks.

Great Grandchildren: Joel (Charity Joyner) Espinoza of LaGrange. Austin (Cristal Ambriz) and Leigha Espinosa of Mt Olive, Jasmine (Alex) Pablo of Mt Olive, Carmen (Dorian Gallegos), Carina (Eriberto Baza-Arias)and Lilly Ventura of Mt Olive, Aiden Flora of Japan, Gabriel Owens, Willow and Keagan Brennan of Kentucky. Grace Strickland of Fayetteville. Malachi Strickland of Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Isaac Henry “Ike” Flora. Siblings Morris, Beatrice (Otha) Roy, Rural, Jewel, Maxine (Bryon) Wells Mullins, Clarice (Arnold) Holcomb, Euell (Jean), Patricia, Shirley Wilson Gooden Wine. Parents William Serber and Della Okle (Scales) Wilson.

Mom and Dad met in Illinois in 1956 and married on November 20, 1957. She was a full-time wife and mother. After 20 years of being a military family, they settled in Kentucky from 1976-1990. Then they moved the family to the Seven Springs area until moving to Grantham in 2002. They were active members of the Grant’s Chapel Church in Seven Springs until their passing. Mom enjoyed cooking meals for her family. She was also an active gardener, enjoying working with her flowers and feeding the hummingbirds every summer.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28 AT 10:00 A.M. AT EASTERN CAROLINA STATE VETERANS CEMETERY, GOLDSBORO, N.C.  Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Kearney
