Zadie Bell Knowles Cotton, a long-time Calypso resident, passed away at home early Tuesday morning, June 27, 2023.

Mrs. Cotton had been employed at Young Squire Industries in years past. She was of the holiness faith.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane C. and Dale Hedrick of Mount Olive, and Betty Lou C. Grady of Mount Olive; a son and daughter-in-law, Buck and Vicky Bell Cotton of Mount Olive; sisters, Lucy Mozingo of Jackson, NC and Linda Graham of Goldsboro; a brother, Ernest Knowles and wife, Evonne, of Sophia, NC; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

Loved ones preceding her in death include her husband, George Marvin Cotton; a grandson, Stuart K. Grady; a son-in-law, Steve C. Grady; parents, Oney and Susie Taylor Knowles; sister, Jean K. Oxendine; brothers, Harry Knowles, and Johnny Ray Knowles, and Robert E. Knowles.

Her family will celebrate her life in a private simple service to be held in the Calypso Cemetery where she will be entombed beside her late husband.
