Alfred Jensen Buck, 90, of Goldsboro passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Buck was born in Goldsboro on March 27, 1933, and was the son of the late Monroe Walter Buck Jr. and Katie Roberta Sholar Buck. Mr. Buck was also preceded in death by his brother, Arnold Vinson Buck.

He graduated from Goldsboro High School, proudly served in the U. S. Coast Guard, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition, he enjoyed genealogy, fishing, and photography. He especially loved to talk about his time in the Coast Guard. He was such a kind soul to everyone.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alice S. Buck of the home.

Special Nieces: Sandra Buck Honeycutt (Michael), Barbara Buck Nichols (Greg), Debora Buck Edwards (James Earl), and Rhonda Buck Adams (Dwight); other survivors: Arnold “Vinson” Buck II (Rebecca), Bridget Elizabeth Buck, Joseph Waters Jr. (Miriam) and Marie Dawn Waters. He was predeceased by his niece, Debra Gail Waters. Also survived by Charles Edward Sholar (Belinda), Rose Mary Latham (Terry), Bobby Adcox Jr., Timmie Lee Adcox (Maritza), George Eric Sholar and Wendy Sholar Sullivan (Michael), William Anthony Sholar, Donnie Ray Sholar, and Mickey Sholar.

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., July 6, 2023, at Wayne Memorial Park with military honors provided by the United States Coast Guard.

Flowers are welcome or memorials can be made to a charity of one’s choice in his name.
