KINSTON – The Kinston Wingmen rallied for a 4-1 victory over the River City Skippers on Thursday evening at Lancer Field on the campus of Lenoir Community College.
River City took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Drew Nagel’s RBI single gave the Skippers an early advantage.
Kinston battled back in the bottom of the second, and the Wingmen tied the game courtesy of a balk by River City’s pitcher.
Carter Starkweather’s two-run triple in the home half of the third inning gave Kinston a 3-1 lead. Jacob Albarado’s infield single scored Starkweather to cap the Wingmen’s scoring.
Kinston improved to 12-10 on the season, and the Wingmen host the Brunswick Surfin Turfs on July 10.
