Nickie Darrell Lancaster, 71, of Pikeville passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at his home.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 17, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Pate-Lancaster Cemetery on Airport Road right after the Forehand Road intersection in Pikeville with Reverend Christian Powell officiating.

Mr. Lancaster was born in Wayne County on March 12, 1952, to the late Ralph Haywood Lancaster and Doris Marie Herring Lancaster.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Shelby, and husband, Tom of Goldsboro; his son, Nickolas Lancaster of Pikeville; his sister, Janice Marie Casey, and husband, Cecil of Pikeville; three grandchildren, Darren Lancaster, Dillon Lancaster, and Tori Shelby.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Jane Lancaster, and one grandson, Austin Lancaster.
