Cynthia “Cindy” Creech Weeks peacefully departed this life and joyously entered her eternal reward on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. She was born in Wayne County to Sandra Creech Worrell of Goldsboro and the late Kenneth Creech on May 30, 1969. In addition to her father, Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Frances Creech, Prentice Uzzell, and Ollie Uzzell Malone; step-father, Ron Mendell; and David’s father, David Weeks, Sr., and grandfather, Facie Weeks.
Cindy was a loving daughter, wife, and mother. A well-known and loved member of the community, she was a dedicated member of Bethel Fellowship Church. Cindy was always involved in many of the church activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities, especially those centered around youth.
A graduate of pharmacy school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Cindy served patients at Wayne UNC Health Care for almost 31 years as a registered pharmacist. However, the focus of her life was her faith and her family. Living strongly into the words of 1 Corinthians 13:13, she possessed a deep faith, and strong hope, and showed the greatest of these—love, to all she met. The mother of two sons, Ken and Daniel knew the depth of her love like none other. Cindy was an active supporter and constant pillar for them. No matter the activities in which they were involved, at church, school, or sports, they knew Cindy was always there with them.
Taking great pride in the accomplishments of her family, Cindy had a strong desire to see them excel. One of Cindy’s greatest moments in life was seeing her son, Ken, graduate from college this year and begin his career. Being able to support Daniel in his baseball accomplishments was also a highlight, for Cindy was always his biggest fan.
Though cancer was a fierce battle for Cindy for over four years, she met each challenge with determination and strength. Her positive outlook was beyond compare as she faced each day with the help of her Lord, the support of her family, and the fortitude of her spirit.
A service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Bethel Fellowship Church, 1882 Hood Swamp Road, LaGrange, NC 28551. Rev. Joseph Franklin and Rev. Stanley Kirby will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in La Grange, NC. The family will greet friends briefly following the service at the cemetery.
In addition to her mother, Cindy is survived by the love of her life and husband of more than 29 years, David Weeks, Jr.; her sons, Ken and Daniel; brother, Chris Creech and wife, Teresa and their son, Luke; and her mother’s husband, Billy Worrell. She is also survived by David’s family: mother, Ginny Weeks; stepmother, Tania Weeks; grandmother, Faye Weeks; and his brothers and families, Anthony Weeks and wife Shannon and Jerry Worrell and wife, Shirley. Other survivors include her uncle and aunt, Rayburn and Donna Uzzell; aunt, Kathy Creech Paige and husband, Ron; step-brothers and families, Brian Mendell and wife, Susan and Mark Mendell and wife, Angie; and many cousins she loved very much.
