Charles Ray Brogden, 79, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Charles Ray was born on July 24, 1944, in Duplin County, one of nine children, to the late Phillip and Betsy Carter Brogden. Working in construction all of his life, Charles Ray was an accomplished craftsman with an eye for detail. He was a valued employee of T.A. Loving Company with over 55 years of service.

Family was of great importance to Charles Ray and he looked forward to every opportunity to spend with them.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Daniel Weeks officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Charles Ray is survived by his children, Missy Morris, and husband, David, Charles Brogden and wife, Angela, Teresa Price and husband, David John, Charlene Brogden, and Todd Brogden; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had the opportunity to make a difference in his grandson’s life, Rylan Brogden, while he helped raise him in his home.
