William Marvin Gooding, 70, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born on December 15, 1952, in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Franklin Gooding and Lillie Lancaster Gooding.

A service to celebrate William’s life will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro.

William is survived by his son, Jason Gooding, and wife, Angie, and grandchildren; sisters, Esther Grant and family, Helen Kermon; his brother, Durwood Gooding, and family; nephews, John Steven Roberts and wife, Tammie, Robert Roberts and wife, Jennifer, Christopher Grant, Bryan Grant, Freddie Gooding; his niece, Jennifer Kidder; and niece-in-law, Sandra Grant.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brothers, Royce and Frankie Gooding; sisters, Linda Hooks, Marjorie Gooding, and Frances Roberts.
