Larry Caroll Jernigan, resident of the Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at his residence.

Larry, 51, was employed with Tarheel Hardware in Mount Olive at the time of his passing. He had previously been employed with Butter Ball, Harley Davidson, and Fun Products, but his longest tenure of employment was with his parents at John Patterson Furniture Company.

He is survived by his daughters, Lauren Jernigan and husband, Barry Newhard, of Dushore, Penn., and Amber Jernigan of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Liam Newhard and Ethan Newhard of Dushore, and Camila Mora and Savanna Jernigan of Goldsboro; his mother, Carolyn Goodman Jernigan of Mount Olive; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon J. and Sam Flowers of Rocky Mount; nieces and nephews, Holly Jernigan, Jonathan Jernigan, his wife, Scarlett, and their son, Almon; Gabriel Jernigan, Ashley F. Coulson and Sarah F. Callisher.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, W. Sherwood Jernigan, and a brother, William Glenn Jernigan.

Larry’s life will be remembered in a service on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. followed by visitation, both to be held at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
