Mr. Emmeul Lewis Jr., 87, transitioned from labor to reward on Wednesday night, August 30, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Please keep the Lewis-Rhodes Families in prayer as we prepare to lay the last of the patriarchs of our family to rest. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. at the Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association Headquarters, 1800 S. Slocumb Street, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a chapel viewing from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023, at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. The family will not be present. He will be laid to rest at the Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC.

He was born on February 17, 1936, in Wayne County, NC to Tank Lewis and Georgia Smith Lewis. He is survived by his children: LaVerne (Wesley) Simmons of Charlotte, NC, and Emmeul Lewis Jr. (Sherry) of Goldsboro, NC; nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
