Larry Dean Price

Larry Dean Price

September 12, 2023, 83, Seven Springs —

Larry Dean Price passed away suddenly on September 12, 2023. He was known as “Uncle Larry” by many who were not related at all but counted him as uncle and friend. He was an excellent farmer and kept his crops and surrounding areas neat as a pin. His sweet corn was enjoyed by family and friends alike. He was glad to be able to see a good crop this year as he got to visit with those coming down that path to the corn pickup shelter back in the shade.

He was the son of Titus and Johnnie Hines Price. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Allie Griffin Price, whom he loved and adored. She was his right hand on anything that came along that needed to be done. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved and helped anytime he could do something for them, and they felt the same way about anything they could do to help him. Any of them will tell you real quick what a wonderful uncle he was and have a story or two to tell you about him and his help. He is also survived by Allie’s sisters, Karla and Kelly Griffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Titus and Johnnie Price; son, Larry C. Price; daughter, DeAnn Price; sisters, Alene Bell, Alyce Kelly, Sylvia Creel, Dollie Townsend, Geneva Price, Mary C. Price, and Geraldine Price; brothers, Newby Price, Curtis Price, Aubrey Price, Nelson Price, Sidney Price, Donald Price, and Stacy Price; and by his much-loved mother-in-law, Carolyn H. Griffin.

He hosted many family reunions in “the shop” where tables were set up for the meal, fellowship, and stories told. The young ones loved getting to sit on any of his tractors and have a picture made. As long as there were brothers and sisters surviving, they gathered for a family picture.

For many, many years on Sunday afternoons, brothers and sisters gathered in the shop for some card therapy. On the rare snow days, those close by would come to the shop to have a pizza warmed on the wood heater and whatever goodies anyone had on hand. Family time was of utmost importance to him and he missed them so much.

A service of love and remembrance will be held by the graveside at Pineview Cemetery on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 1 p.m. Visitation will follow at the shop.
