Bobby Gene Dail, 86, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023, at UNC Health Wayne. He was born on August 10, 1937, to the late Pearl Radford Dail and Gurney Edward Dail of Goldsboro.

Bobby served his country in the North Carolina National Guard. After working with the Goldsboro News-Argus for 24 years and retiring as the Advertising Director, he established Dail Advertising Service and Dail Printing and Engraving.

He was a graduate of Goldsboro High School, the Howard Parrish School of Classified Advertising, and the American Press Institute of Columbia University. He served as President of the Wayne Civitan Club and assisted in fundraising for the development of the North Carolina Zoo at Asheboro. Bobby was also a member of the Toastmasters Club, worked with the American Heart Association and the United Way, and coached Boy’s Club Little League baseball.

Bobby was a member of the Methodist Church for 50 years where he served as lay speaker, Sunday School Superintendent, Finance Chairman, and MYF Leader. Currently, he is a member of Stoney Creek Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Seymour Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Barry Williamson officiating.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annette Worrell Dail; daughter, Wendy Dail Potter (Ron); son, Brandon K. Dail (Amanda); sister, Lillie Rose Combs; brother-in-law, Paul H. Worrell (Mary); sister-in-law, Kathy Worrell Coor (Mike) all of Goldsboro. Grandchildren: Jordan Dail (Katie), Evan Potter, Owen Potter, and Shelby Craft. Two great-grandchildren: Lily Dail and Grayson Dail.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife’s parents, Paul and Kathleen Worrell; brothers, Lloyd, Roy, and Clifton Dail; and sisters, Desiree Lipscomb, Irene Collier, Betty Evans, and Clarice Smith.
