David Wesley Bargoil, Sr.

David Wesley Bargoil, Sr.

September 23, 2023, 75, Goldsboro —

David Wesley Bargoil, Sr., 75, fought the good fight and finished his course here on earth on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Dave was born in Forsyth County to the late William James Bargoil, Jr. and Virginia Jones Bargoil on February 29, 1948.

Dave was no stranger to hard work. He began his career in the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. This instilled pride and honor for his work, which was always well done. After his time of service, he became a successful business manager at both Dan Wise Chevrolet and Chevrolet Cadillac of Goldsboro, which was built on trust and loyalty. He treated his customers like family. They knew Dave’s word was good and this is how he conducted business and his personal life.

When Dave wasn’t working, he found peace and a sense of calm at the beach, whether he was shagging at Memories Beach Club with Linda or when he was in his boat with his family on the water. One of his pleasures was watching the beautiful sunsets provided by his Creator. David loved to share these sunsets with others by posting the pictures on Facebook. He could also be found playing a round of golf or spending time on his Harley Davidson.

The beach was great and riding his Harley was fun, but Dave’s greatest joy in life was his family. They were most important and the love he had for them was unmatched. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild always brought a smile to his face and warmth in his heart. There was nothing quite like being with them and simply enjoying their presence.

Dave was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved the Lord and sought to follow God by serving Him and others through working with Judgement Day and the cooking team at The First Church. Many have experienced the support, encouragement, and love shown by Dave. He gave all of himself to take care of those around him. His joyful and exuberant presence is already missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at The First Church followed by a service to celebrate Dave’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Burial will be on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Dave is survived by his wife, Linda J. Bargoil; children, David Wesley Bargoil, Jr., Jamison (Jamie) Lee Bargoil and wife, Natasha, Jeremy Peterson, and wife, Chelsea and Dale Peterson; grandchildren, Hannah Bargoil, Jacob Bargoil, Azlynn Grace Bargoil, Millie Peterson and Graham Peterson, Jr.; great-grandchild, Brayden Shaeffer and was anticipating the birth of another great-grandchild any day. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Bargoil and Scott Bargoil; sister, Sandy Borders; and many nieces and nephews he loved very much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Bargoil; and brothers, Mark Bargoil and William James Bargoil III.
