Guy Linwood Lytton, 82, resident of the Beautancus area near Mount Olive, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at home.

Mr. Lytton, born in Montgomery County, Virginia, had lived in Hopewell, Virginia until relocating to North Carolina, first to Goldsboro, and later to the Mount Olive area.  It was in Hopewell that he was employed for 38 years with Firestone.  He was a member of Rooty Branch Original Free Will Baptist Church near Mount Olive. 

A service to remember him will be held Saturday, September 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and will be officiated by the Rev. Mickey Whitfield and the Rev. Darren Myers, followed by a time of visitation.  In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial gifts be made to

Mr. Lytton, remembered to be a kind, generous, and caring man, leaves behind his wife, Rachel Gurley Lytton, of the home; a daughter, Lisa L. Stewart of Chesterfield, Va.; step-sons, Paul Ray Myers and wife, Lynne, and Lester Myers and wife, Tara, all of the Mount Olive area; grandchildren, Brittany Samko, Misty Stewart, Mindy Sinclair and husband, Patrick, Daniel Smith, Kayla M. Denning and husband, Lee, Darren Myers, and Kendall Myers; great-grandchildren, Roland Sinclair, Gabriel, Jeremiah, Emma, and Daniel Smith, and Stephen, Hayleigh, and Emma Denning; and a sister, Millie Russell of Alta Vista, Va. along with her sons, Kevin and Kindall Harris, who were two special nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Zina L. Smith; his parents, Robert Nelson Lytton and Cleo Estelle Clemens Lytton; and several siblings.

A special note of thanks is extended to ECU Home Health and Hospice, Kenansville office, especially Brandi and Gina, for outstanding service of comfort and care.  Also worthy of note is the best nurse he could have ever had, his wife, Rachel, with the help from Kayla, in providing moment-to-moment companionship, love, and care.
