On Oct. 21 at approximately 12:35 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the 900 block of S. Best St. for a report of a shooting. 

When officers arrived, they found Ahmad Rashad Hooker, 34, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Hooker was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and initiated an investigation. Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted with scene security.

This investigation is still developing and no further information will be released at this time.
