October 16, 2023, 50, LaGrange —
July 26, 1973 – October 16, 2023
Having fought the good fight while keeping the faith, Robert Alfred “Rob” Moore, II, finished his race on Monday, October 16, 2023. Rob was born in the Naval Hospital in Agana Guam to Rachel Overman Moore Gray and the late Robert Alfred Moore on July 26, 1973.
Learning to play the trumpet in 4th grade, Rob played in the school band through high school and sang with the chorus. After graduating from Olympia High School in Greece, New York, Rob went on to valiantly serve our country in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Rob enlisted with the Washington State National Guard where he served for 15 years. Working in intelligence, Rob saw deployments to Iraq and Kuwait during his military career.
Pursuing a lifelong dream to work in law enforcement, Rob was hired by the Washington Highway Patrol on March 20, 2002, and commissioned on July 16, 2003. While working, Rob attended Columbia College where he received his degree in Criminal Justice Administration in December 2020.
Snow skiing was a passion for Rob, and he was thrilled to be living in an area where he could see snow from his back door. For him, there was no better music than the tunes of the Beach Boys. Time spent target shooting with his wife, Brenda, was both a competition and a fun time.
Riding the roads on his Harley brought great enjoyment. Though he loved his motorcycle, his pride and joy was his 2002 Dodge Charger. With all the original parts, he kept his car in pristine condition.
Vibrant and full of energy, Rob had a genuine love for people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, always finding something in common to discuss. His concern for others drew him to participate in the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, where he could offer his time helping with toy drives and outings for veterans.
A memorial service to honor Rob’s life will be held in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation following the service.
Rob is survived by his wife, Brenda Moore; mother, Rachel Moore Gray and husband, Ron; brother, Pat Moore; step-daughter, Angelica Phillips; and his beloved mastiff, Ginger.
