Lynette King Spry, 75, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Lynette was born in Duplin County to the late Boney Edward and Eloise Melvin King on October 25, 1948. In addition to her parents, Lynette was preceded in death by a son, Charles Spry; and a brother, Edward Earl King.

Working as a licensed practical nurse, Lynette dedicated her career to the care of others. Starting out at Duplin General Hospital, she continued work at Britthaven before serving nearly twenty years at Howell’s Child Care Center.

In her younger years, Lynette enjoyed time fishing off the pier at Bogue Inlet. In later years, she filled her spare time playing bingo at Mickey’s Beach Bingo. She often joked that her ultimate goal in life was to holler Bingo!

Strong-willed and stubborn, Lynette liked things her way. Unique in her own right, she was most concerned with the well-being of her family. When she loved, she loved hard. Protective and caring, she was most content when spending time with her family.

Services for Lynette will be held privately at a later date at Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.

Lynette is survived by her children, Robert Spry and Heather Dickerson; grandchildren, Kaila Dickerson, James Wiggins, Jr., and Angela Jean Dawson; great-granddaughter, Brianna Mendez; and a brother, John King and wife, Carol.
