On Monday at approximately 12:48 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the area of 908 S. Audubon Ave., in reference to a ShotSpotter alert of multiple gunshots.
Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office were in the area a few blocks away and heard the gunfire as well.
As officers were responding to the area, the deputies located a male subject suffering from a gunshot wound in the 900 block of S. Audubon Ave. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the male subject deceased.
Investigators and a crime scene specialist from Goldsboro Police Department responded to the scene. This is an active investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.
