Randy Lee Mills, 65, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. Born in Wayne County on April 27, 1958, he was the son of the late Roy Clayton and Jean Ingram Mills.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Wayne Mills.

Randy is survived by his sister-in-law, Donna Cotton Mills; nieces, Pamela Jean Mills Evans and husband, John Oliver and Donnarie Mills Hales and husband, Allen; special nephew, Daniel Stewart; great nieces and nephews, Clayton Stewart, Reagan Hales, Madeline Stewart, Benton Hales; step-mother, Nannie Cotton Mills; step-sisters, Julie Whitfield, DeAnne Best, and Melinda Carlton and their families; and his beloved canine friend, CoCo.

Randy is also survived by special friends, Manuel Jesús Cajun and Teresa and Nick Rose; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Randy believed in living life to the fullest and never met a stranger. The only thing he loved more than good food and fun vacations, was sharing those activities with the people he loved. He showed his love by taking care of those around him. Randy’s family extended far past the family tree and encompassed his logging family. After nearly 30 years of logging with his father and brother, he branched out with his own logging crew, which he has operated for the last 15 years.

A service to celebrate Randy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Eureka Christian Church with Rev. Frank Purvis and Rev. Michael Sykes officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home.
