It is with great sadness that I share the loss of my brother, Marvin Eugene Fields, Jr., but it is also with great celebration because I know, he went to be with the Lord, and his suffering here on earth has ended.

A native of Wayne County, Marvin was the son of the late Marvin Eugene Fields, Sr., and Penelope Josephine Geist.

Graveside service celebrating Marvin’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Ericia Thompson officiating.

Marvin is survived by his sister, Lori Fields, nieces, Taylor Davis and boyfriend, Zach of Smithfield, Ashley Yelverton and husband, Lynwood of Ayden, Ericia Thompson, and husband, Dave of Goldsboro; nephews, Edgar O’Quinn, and wife, Wendy of Selma, Joseph Bentley of Goldsboro, many great nieces and nephews, and the love of his life, Sylvania Maddock of Hampton, New Hampshire.

In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Fields; sister, Deborah Fields and brother, Charles Fields.
