MOUNT OLIVE — On Wednesday at approximately 8:50 pm, Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at 103 Rhythm Place, Goldsboro.

After arriving, deputies located a male subject who had a minor injury to his ankle, which a bullet had
grazed. Witnesses at the residence provided information to responding deputies that the offender
listed, Tommy K. Mitchell, and the victim were in a physical altercation, and during that altercation,
Mitchell pulled out a handgun and fired a couple of rounds, one of which grazed the victim.

Witnesses provided deputies with the description of the vehicle that Mitchell fled the scene in, and responding deputies subsequently located the vehicle in the area. Deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on the suspect, but Mitchell failed to stop, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle pursuit ended inside the Mount Olive city limits and Mitchell suspect was taken into custody without incident
