The Partnership for Children of Wayne County is Celebrating the Week of the Young Child through Apr. 12.
The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
The National Association for the Education of Young Children first established the Week of the Young Child in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children’s success in school and later life.
The themes during the Week of the Young Child include Music Monday and Tasty Tuesday among others. A Teddy Bear Picnic is being held from 10 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday at Herman Park. The event will include free popcorn, snowcones, and train rides.
Registration is required. To register call (919) 735-3371 x. 227.
