Marsha Ward Norris, 77, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, after a long illness. Marsha was born in Watauga County, North Carolina to the late Edna Farthing and Marshall Daniel Ward on May 7, 1946. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Wilma Harmon, Peggy Tester, Fae Story, and Mae Williams.

A nurse for 44 years, Marsha held two nursing degrees from Caldwell Technical Community College (LPN) and Patrick Henry Community College (RN). She had great compassion for her patients and worked in many hospitals throughout VA, NC, and SC. In her spare time, she loved gardening, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family. Marsha had a wonderful sense of humor, an aversion to the kitchen, and a deep love for Jesus. She was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.

Marsha is survived by her husband, Henry Norris, daughter Missy Donavant (Billy), and step-children Buddy Norris (Beth), Jerry Norris (Amy), Yvonne Overstreet, and Michelle Mitchell (Neil). Grandchildren include Stacey and Sidney Donavant, Murphy Norris, Jeffrey Norris, Danielle Garris, Christina Overstreet, Tyler Mitchell, and sister and brothers-in-law Billie Norris, T D Norris (Teresa) and Harold Norris. She is also survived by five loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Westview Cemetery in Kinston, NC.
