Mrs. Shelby Dean Parks Jernigan Price, at the age of 86, passed away Thursday evening, June 6, 2024, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Mrs. Price, a resident of Highway 55 between Mount Olive and Seven Springs, had been employed at Burlington Industries in Mount Olive, for much of her working life. In later years, she was employed as a greeter at the local Walmart Store in Mount Olive. She had worshiped with the Mount Olive congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in years past.
Surviving her are five of her children, Deborah Jernigan Debnam and husband, Don, of Knightdale, Callie Denise Jernigan Outlaw of Mount Olive, Edward “Chris” Jernigan and wife, Kim, of Elm City, Lynwood Starr Price of Seven Springs, and April Price Rose and husband, Tim, of Mount Olive; a step-daughter, Karen Price Montague and husband, Barry, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Brandon Price, Zachary Price, Landon Price, Aaron Rose, Abby Rose, Sawyer Debnam and husband, Don Hubert Debnam and wife, Daniel Jernigan and wife, Cameron Jernigan, Donathan Anderson and wife, Leslie outlaw, Cody Outlaw and wife, Chaz Outlaw, Nicholas Montague and wife, and Joey Montague and wife; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Patton Parks and wife, Linda, of Seven Springs; four sisters, Bonnie Parks Lassiter of Seven Springs, Nina Parks Hoy of Salisbury, Maryland, Joy Parks Judy and husband, Mike, of Seven Springs, and Sylvia Parks Hack and husband, Bill, of Raleigh; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and their families.
She was preceded in death by a young daughter, Jennifer Jernigan; her husband, Lynwood Lapo Price; and her parents, William Starr Parks and Callie Hill Parks.
Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home on Sunday, June 9, from 3 until 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, at 11:00 a.m. by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park. Presiding will be the Rev. Robert Smith III.
