Wayne STEM Academy Holds First Kindergarten Graduation

Wayne STEM Academy, the newest public charter school in Wayne County with STEM-based learning, graduated over 50 scholars in its first kindergarten graduation ceremony on June 12.

The school serves families from Wayne, Lenoir, Wilson, and Johnston counties. Parents, family members, teachers, and staff packed the auditorium to cheer their students on as each kindergartener, clad in purple caps and gowns, received diplomas from Wayne STEM Academy’s Executive Director Dr. Todd Forgette.

Dr. Forgette gave a brief message to all in attendance.

“Kindness, patience, and integrity are the seeds of continued success– just as important as any diploma or education,” Forgette said.

Wayne STEM Academy is enrolling all Kindergarten – 4th grade students for the 2024 – 2025 school year. Wayne STEM Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school, with transportation provided, that is open to all North Carolina residents.
