Fredrick Henry Crosby, Sr. age 75, of Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was born in Douglas, Georgia to the late Wilbur and Pauline Smith Crosby. He proudly served his country for 24 years with the US Air Force. A member of Ray of Hope P.F.W.B. Church, he was also a Gideon and was active in the Jail ministry at Wayne County Jail where he was able to witness hundreds of inmates over the years. Often, he could be found riding through his neighborhood on his “Witness Mobile” spreading God’s word. In addition, he was an avid HAM radio operator going by the call letters W4FHC.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Sue Roden Crosby; son, Fredrick Henry Crosby, Jr. (Sheri); stepchildren, Alisha Cook, Jay Fralick, Chet Fralick, Keri Masone; Sisters, Glenda Wilkerson, and Gail Chevaliei; 17 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Special family friends, Christi & Sherwood Chase, Jimmy & Jean Rollins, Ray & Doris Boyette, Jeri Chafin, and his Ray of Hope Church family
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with military honors. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home,
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Cruz.
