On Saturday at approximately 8:05 p.m., officers from the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to UNC Health Wayne in reference to a stolen ambulance.
Officers were able to locate the stolen ambulance a short time later in the area of Wayne Memorial Drive and New Hope Road.
The suspect, Raul Sandoval-Moore, 23, drove the ambulance back into the front parking lot of UNC Health Wayne where he intentionally struck an occupied Goldsboro Police Department patrol vehicle.
Sandoval-Moore then stopped the ambulance and was taken into custody without incident.
Warrants were secured for Sandoval-Moore for assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill.
Sandoval-Moore was also cited for careless and reckless driving, driving while license revoked, exceeding the posted speed limit, and failure to maintain lane control.
