James Phillip Altman, 83, quietly departed this life for life eternal on Friday morning, June 21, 2024, at Sutton’s Retirement Center. Jimmy was born in Mullins, South Carolina to the late Mae Lyles Altman Stowe on September 12, 1940. In addition to his mother, Jimmy was preceded in death by his stepfather, A.J. Stowe.

Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years. He later went to work with the C & A Company where he enjoyed a successful career in millwork for over 40 years. Jimmy enjoyed cars and the opportunity to work with the many hot rods he had the opportunity to create.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Jimmy is survived by his dear friends whom he loved as his own, Ann and Dennis Waters.
