On Monday, at approximately 5:44 p.m., officers from the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a motor vehicle wreck with an individual possibly pinned in at the intersection of Ash Street and Center Street.

This involved a single vehicle, with two adult occupants, that struck a utility pole. The passenger of the vehicle succumbed to her injuries as a result of the motor vehicle wreck.

The driver, Lee Grubb, Smithfield, was cited for exceeding the speed limit and failure to maintain lane control.
