WCSO Makes Arrest in Motor Vehicle Breaking and Entering Case

At approximately 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Patrol Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to several subjects attempting to enter vehicles in a neighborhood off Nor-Am Road in the Pikeville area of northern Wayne County.

Patrol C-Shift responded and located a vehicle standing in the roadway. Upon approach of the marked unit, a suspect fled from private property to the passenger side of the Acura MDX Advance and a short vehicle chase ensued.

The Acura wrecked on a concrete driveway and culvert located in the Cul-de-sac of Ruth Drive. Two suspects fled the wrecked Acura on foot and after a brief foot chase, the passenger was apprehended by Deputies.

A canine was requested but the second suspect was not located after a thorough search of the area. The passenger was identified as Tristen William Mason.

Mason was transported to the WCSO annex for questioning. Afterward, Mason was transported to the magistrate’s office where he received a $50,000 secured bond and was placed in the custody of the Wayne County Jail.

Several additional reports were being processed at the time of this release. Any persons having information, including videos or photos from security cameras, from neighborhoods in the north end of the county are encouraged to notify the WCSO Investigations Division.
