Mrs. Helen Bland Best, 88, of the Dobbersville area west of Mount Olive, passed away Monday morning, July 29, 2024, while at home.

Mrs. Best, a long-time member of Brownings Methodist Church where, for years, she served as church pianist, and later sang in the church choir, had worked at Young Squire Industries, Burlington Industries, and later, A-P Parts from where she retired.  She also assisted her husband with the growing and gathering of produce and vegetables on the family farm.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth B. Best, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Bobbie P. Best of Mount Olive; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy B. and Mike Grantham of Dudley; three granddaughters, Kellie Best Turner and husband, Jeffrey, of Clayton, Morgan Best Stokes and husband, Collin, of Garner, and Kendall Grantham of Dudley; several great-grandchildren to include Parker Bryan Turner of Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Bland and Maggie Ezzell Bland; and her two sisters, Louise B. Smith and Rachel B. Grantham.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31, at 12:00 Noon by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park.  Officiating will be the Rev. Patrick Muston.  The family will greet friends at the cemetery after the service, and at other times, they will be at the residence.
