The City of Goldsboro has canceled its National Night Out event scheduled for Tuesday evening at Herman Park due to rain in the forecast.
LaToya Henry, Public Information Officer, sent out an email on Monday that read, “This year’s National Night Out, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6, has been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather and the possible effects from Hurricane Debby. The Goldsboro Police Department made this decision based on the safety of our citizens and will continue to monitor the risk for severe weather. We would like to thank all the sponsors and vendors who agreed to partner with the Goldsboro Police Department for this year’s National Night Out event. We would also like to invite everyone to visit us at Freedom Fest on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024.”
