John Douglas Best, 74, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at his home. Doug was born in Wayne County to the late Paul and Daisy Best on July 23, 1950. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Best.

For many years, Doug worked in the family business, Jackson Moving and Storage in Goldsboro. He was hard-working and the kind of man who was loyal to his family.

At his request, no formal service will be held.

Doug is survived by his brother, Larry Wayne Best of Goldsboro; sister, Paulette Suggs and husband, Billy of Goldsboro; several nieces and nephews; and his k-9 friend, King, whom he loved very much.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
