Faye Woodard Tatum, 81, was welcomed into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Faye was born in Wayne County to the late James Henry Woodard and Hazel Ham Woodard on November 13, 1942. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Rev. George Edward Tatum.
Devout in her Christian faith, Faye served her Lord in thought, word, and deed. Compelled by the love of Jesus for them, Ed and Faye were blessed with a unique ability to connect with people, they served at 8 churches for over 50 years. Faye also enjoyed the opportunities given to her by teaching and helping to impact the lives of so many students with North Carolina Public Schools.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Faye’s life at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Tim Inman and Rev. Chris Stewart. A private interment for the family will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Faye is survived by her son, James Tatum, and wife, Shyla of Raleigh; daughter, Angela Inman, and husband, Tim of Dunn; grandchildren, William, Alex, and Declan; sister, Ann Ainsley, and husband, Wayne; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews she loved very much.
