Catherine “Cass” Herron Walsh, 85, was welcomed home by her Lord and by her husband on Friday, August 16, 2024. Cass was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1938, to the late Edward Joseph Herron, Sr. and Catherine Helmuth Herron. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Walsh, Jr.; granddaughters, Janika Walsh and Erin Walsh Lapean; siblings, Daniel Herron and Patricia Doyle; brothers-in-law, Patrick Coughlan and Bobby Doyle; and sister-in-law, Nancy Herron.

For 25 years, Cass proudly served as the school lunch coordinator for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She also spent many years helping the Hunter Soccer Club raise funds helping to run their snack bar at all of the Soccer games.

She believed her greatest gift from God, was her family. She was a loving mother who also treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as precious jewels. While she is gone temporarily from sight, Cass will forever remain in their hearts and memories.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate the life of Cass at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with her son, Rev. Edward Walsh officiating. Inurnment will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA.

Cass is survived by her children, John Walsh (Jacquie), Kathy Ahern (John), Edward Walsh (Edwin), Tim Walsh (Katie), and Michael Walsh (Michele); twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Edward J. Herron, Jr. (Dot), Richard Herron, Denise Connelly (Jack), and Grace Coughlan; sister-in-law, Betsy Herron; and many nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in her memory to the Hunter Soccer Club, 220 Houston Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
