Rae’kwon Lee Sherrod, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Rae’kwon was born to Sharon Sherrod and Anthony Mickens on December 23, 2000, in Goldsboro, NC. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at his home in Goldsboro, NC.

Rae’kwon’s educational journey began in the Wayne County Public School Systems, culminating in his graduation from Goldsboro High School. He demonstrated his dedication and commitment by maintaining employment at Texas Roadhouse and Popeyes.

Rae’kwon’s departure leaves a significant void in the lives of many. He is survived by a large circle of loved ones, each of whom will cherish his memory. His immediate family includes his parents, Sharon L. Sherrod and Anthony Mickens; his sister, Gladys Sherrod; and brother, JaiQuelle Sherrod. He is also survived by his grandfather, Joseph L. Sherrod Sr. (Sandra); his loving grandmother, Ms. Charity M. Green; his aunt, Tina Sherrod and uncle, Jospeh L. Sherrod, Jr.(Regina); 7 great aunts; 3 great uncles, his special cousin Jacaree Holloman along with his mother (Cassandra), and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services will be observed on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 12 Noon from the Chapel of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors, 401 N. William St., Goldsboro, NC 27530. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Sherard Family Cemetery on Bartlett Rd in Pikeville, NC.
